Custom domains
Every published site gets a Waveform subdomain out of the box. On Pro and Business plans you can serve your site from your own domain.
Connecting a domain
Tell Waveform the domain in chat:
"Connect www.flourandstone.com to this site."
Waveform starts the domain configuration and gives you the DNS records to add at your registrar (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Google Domains — anywhere).
DNS verification
After adding the records, say "verify the domain". Waveform checks the DNS configuration and reports exactly what it found — if a record is missing or pointing at the wrong target, it tells you which one and what it expected. DNS changes can take from a few minutes up to an hour to propagate, depending on your registrar.
SSL
Certificates are provisioned automatically on Cloudflare's edge once DNS verifies. There is nothing to buy, upload, or renew — HTTPS just works, permanently.
Apex domains and www
You can connect either the apex (flourandstone.com), the www
subdomain, or both. If your registrar doesn't support the record type
needed for the apex, Waveform will tell you during verification and
suggest the standard workaround.
Removing or changing a domain
Say "remove the custom domain" or connect a different one at any time. Your Waveform subdomain keeps working throughout, so switching domains never takes the site offline.
Availability
Custom domains require a Pro or Business plan. The free tier publishes to a Waveform subdomain.
