Billing & limits

Waveform has three plans — Free, Pro, and Business. Every plan includes the full builder; paid plans add capacity and publishing features. Current prices and a full comparison live on the pricing page.

What counts as an AI generation

A generation is a build-affecting AI action:

  • Creating or rewriting a page or section
  • Generating or refining page copy
  • Producing an image (heroes, backgrounds, OG images, favicons)
  • Running a design pass or quality workflow

Things that never consume generations: browsing your dashboard, viewing the preview, reading analytics, editing collection entries by hand, and serving traffic to your published site.

What happens when you hit a limit

Your published sites are unaffected — they stay live and fully served. Limits only pause new AI builds:

  • Generation limit — new build requests wait until your monthly allowance resets, or resume immediately if you upgrade.
  • Site limit — creating another site requires an upgrade or deleting an existing one.

Allowances reset on the first of each month.

Upgrading

Upgrade from the pricing page — checkout is handled by Stripe and takes effect immediately. Your card details never touch Waveform's servers.

Managing your subscription

Billing management (card changes, invoices, cancellation) is available from your dashboard through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellations apply at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid features until then.

Downgrading

If you downgrade below your current usage (say, five sites on a plan that allows one), existing sites keep working — you just can't create new ones until you're back under the limit.

Your code is yours, always

Plan changes never affect ownership. The Astro + Tailwind source Waveform generates belongs to you on every tier, including Free.
